CNC Busbar Machine Factory Audit Checklist

A supplier audit should answer a simple question: can this company deliver the exact CNC busbar machine, tooling, documentation and support written in your purchase specification? A polished video or a low quotation cannot answer that question. A useful audit connects the legal seller, the physical machine, the acceptance samples and the handover records.

3. Conduct a Live, Traceable Walkthrough

Ask for a live call or independent visit with a route chosen by the buyer. The goal is not to prove that every process is in-house; it is to map the real production chain.

Follow one identifiable machine or serial number through these areas:

  1. incoming frames and purchased components;
  2. mechanical assembly and alignment;
  3. hydraulic and pneumatic installation, where applicable;
  4. electrical cabinet wiring and software loading;
  5. tooling storage and sample production;
  6. inspection and test records;
  7. preservation, packing and loading preparation.

4. Match the Quotation to the Physical Machine

Model names alone are not a configuration. Build a signed configuration schedule and check it against the machine under test.

  • usable throat, table support and loading direction;
  • station layout and whether operations can run concurrently;
  • die type, included sizes and custom-tooling drawings;
  • datum method, stops, clamps and positioning feedback;
  • lubrication points, filters and routine service access.

Controls and electrical scope

  • PLC/CNC, HMI, drives, sensors and safety-device part numbers;
  • approved voltage/frequency configuration and transformer scope;

  • password, license, dongle and software-update ownership;

Do not accept “equivalent component” as an open-ended clause. If substitutions are permitted, define the approval process and the evidence required before installation.

5. Make the FAT Representative

A supplier demonstration shows that a machine can move. A FAT shows whether the contracted machine can make the buyer’s parts within the agreed limits.

Send representative material and drawings before the test. Include the most demanding combinations, not only easy center holes or a single 90-degree bend.

  • verify the language and revision of manuals and training files;

7. Gate Payments to Verifiable Milestones

Payment structure should reflect the supplier relationship, transaction value and available bank protections. Instead of relying on a universal percentage, tie each release to evidence such as:

  • approved configuration schedule;
  • completed production milestone;
  • signed FAT report and closed deviations;
  • packing-list and preservation evidence;
  • transport document status;
  • commissioning or final handover, if included.
